Small Group Leader Overview

 

Being a small group leader is fun and a gift to your group!  Here are some points to remember to help you enjoy your time as a leader, meet your goals, and serve your group.

 

» Host vs. Leader - What's the difference?

  • If you want to start a small group - or have never lead one before - consider starting out as a Host. 
    • Have a heart for your church
    • Open your home 
    • Serve a pot of coffee
    • Turn on the DVD
  • If you like it, consider receiving some training from your church and become a Leader.
    • Contact your church's small group volunteer or pastor and recieve some small group training from your church
    • Help your group grow in the 5 purposes:
      • Help them connect in authentic community - fellowship
      • Help them to grow to be like Christ - discipleship
      • Help them develop their SHAPE to minister - service
      • Help them share their life mission - evangelize
      • Help them surrender their lives for God's pleasure - worship
